Customizing Clove

You can personalize your Clove experience through Settings. Click your profile at the bottom left of the sidebar and select Settings.

Theme​

Switch between dark and light mode to match your preference.

Custom Instructions​

Navigate to the Chat section in Settings. Here you can enter custom instructions that are sent with every new conversation you start. These shape how Clove responds to you across all your chats.

Clove provides instruction suggestions organized by category to help you get started:

  • Style — Set the tone and format of responses (e.g., professional, casual, concise).
  • Context — Tell Clove about your domain or industry so it can tailor its answers.
  • Format — Define how you want responses structured (e.g., bullet points, numbered lists, headers).
  • Expertise — Indicate your knowledge level so Clove adjusts its explanations accordingly.

Each category includes template suggestions you can click to quickly add. Fill in the blanks to make them your own.

Document Templates​

You can create a document template that defines how Clove should format generated documents. This is useful if your organization has specific formatting requirements. You can upload a template file and configure its details from the Settings page.

Usage and Limits​

The Settings page shows your current usage:

  • Token consumption — How much of your daily or monthly token budget you have used, with a progress bar.
  • Storage usage — How much collection storage you are using and your limit.

This helps you keep track of your usage and plan accordingly.

Preferred Name​

Set how you would like Clove to address you. This name is used in greetings and personalization throughout the app.

Tour​

If you want to revisit the onboarding tour that walks you through Clove's features, you can reset it from Settings. This re-enables the guided tour the next time you visit each section.
